Welcome to America's FIRST ALL DUN horse registry.

The North American Dun Horse Registry includes all breeds of horses that have DUN MARKINGS.  As long as the horse has DUN MARKINGS it can be registered with NADHR.

NADHR includes the three basic dun colors of Red Dun, Dun (Bay Dun) & Grullo/Grulla along with many variations of  DUN.  The variations of Dun with the Cream Gene are as follows: Dunalino, Dunskin, Smoky Grullo/Grulla, Creamello Dun, Perlino Dun, & Smoky Grullo/Grulla. The variations of Dun with the Champaign Gene are as follows:  Gold Dun, Amber Dun & Classic Grullo/Grulla.  The variations of Dun with the Champaine & Cream Genes are as follows: Gold Dunalino, Amber Dunskin & Classic Smoky Grullo/Grulla.  The variations of Dun with the Gray Gene are as follows:  Gray Red Dun, Gray Dun & Gray Grullo/Grulla.  The variations of Dun with the Silver Dapple Gene are as follows: Chocolate Dun & Silver Dun.  The variations of Dun with the Roan Gene are as follows: Red Roan Dun, Bay Roan Dun & Blue Grullo/Grulla.

Both the NADHR & the ADHA include horses of several coat patterns including solid, brindle, tobiano, overo (frame, sabino or splash), tovero, spotted blanket, blanket, snowflake, varnish roan, leopard spot & few spot leopard.

The American Dun Horse Association is an exclusive association in which all horses must be one of the three basic dun coat colors of Red Dun, Dun (Bay Dun), or Grullo/Grulla.  The horse must also be registered with another breed registry &/or one or both the sire & dam registed with ADHA or NADHR.  NO GRADED horses are allowed in the ADHA.

The North American Dun Horse Registry is an incluseive registry in which the only requirement of the horse is that it must have dun markings.  The horse may carry other color genes in combination with the Dun Gene.  The NADHR also accepts grade horses which have dun markings.
